***UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP***
To our dear customers and patrons,
On April 11, 2023 our strong, beloved Jan- wife, mother, and business owner- passed away, ending her long but fearless fight against breast cancer. Jan founded this family owned and operated business in 2012, when her love for business and cooking alike found a place in the middle of a hay field in Benson, VT. While it may have been in an unusual location, the business grew exponentially over the years and Jan continued to make improvements each year to ensure that the business was reaching its full potential. For Jan, the summers from May to October were rich with work, building relationships with customers, and doing what she loved most, which was serving her fabulous food to those in our community. She had the orders of regular customers memorized, was a stickler for “her way” of doing things, and never failed to have a smile on her face while she worked. Her customers adored her and we know that she will be truly missed.
To preserve the memory and legacy of West Coast Tacos the way that we all remember - good food served by even better people - we will be permanently closing the business. We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to our dedicated customers, and the support that the community has given our family on this journey of turning a concession stand in a hay field to a beloved business. We couldn’t have done it without you all, so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
That being said, as our family begins the process of moving on from the business, we will be offering the corner lot and concession stand for sale. If you are interested, please email us to inquire at [email protected].
If you wish to make a contribution in Jans memory, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org) or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://give.bcrf.org).
With love,
Tim and Elyza Bird
